Algarve Beaches – The Best of Europe For Your Best Holidays

You will find in Algarve, the best beaches of Europe. Algarve is located in the southwest of the European continent, near the North of the African Continent, but with its coasts to the Atlantic Ocean. This is why it has warm temperatures and nice weather, almost all days of the year. The Algarve coast is very heterogeneous, which means that you have several alternatives to find the beach you like most.

The coast can be split in several different areas with different characteristics. In the west coast, where you have the Natural Park of “Costa Vicentina”, the sea is rougher and the beaches are set in the landscape as nature created them. Because this is a Natural Park, there are only a few buildings and the beaches are less crowded. There are very beautiful beaches like Arrifana with a big cliff and a splendid view. If you like calm beaches with few people, surrounded by Nature, this is the place to go.

The Algarve beaches of the south coast have calmer and warmer water than the west coast. Because the south coast is more touristic the beaches are more crowded. The area of Albufeira is the most crowded place of Algarve and the more touristic. Here you have beautiful beaches of easy access, some small, carved in the rocks and other very long, like the famous Falesia beach, near the luxury resort of Pine Cliffs. If you like beautiful beaches but at the same time to be near ancient villages, beautiful hotels or resorts, sport activities, nightlife, etc., this is the place you should choose.

In the region of Lagos, in the southwest part of Algarve, you have small beaches formed in the rocky coast, known for its beauty. You also can have boat trips into the beautiful caves formed by the sea. You must not miss this part of Algarve.

In the central south coast of Algarve, between Vilamoura and Faro, you have long white sandy beaches which are part of another Natural Park “Ria Formosa”. These are beaches located near top luxury resorts like Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago, placed in a idyllic untouched place, some with more difficult access, where you have to walk through the dunes. Nevertheless, it is worth the effort because these are less frequented beaches. If you like beaches with wide spaces, not many people, in the middle of nature and on top of that, near some of the most beautiful resorts in Europe, then these are the perfect beaches for you.

In summary, in Algarve you have many options regarding the beaches, but Algarve has many other reasons for you to have your best holidays, like the beautiful weather, Spas, culture, people, countryside, water sports, golf and so many others. Algarve is one of the best places to spend your holidays.
